At Luminous Oak Academy, we help children grow strong roots, find their voice and believe they can. Our vision is rooted in five shared values: perseverance, acceptance, ambition, courage and kindness.
We nurture perseverance by celebrating effort, progress and resilience. Children are encouraged to keep going when learning feels challenging and to see mistakes as part of growth, not failure. Like the oak tree, we grow slowly and steadily, developing deep roots that allow our children to stand strong and succeed over time.
We are a school built on acceptance. Every child belongs here. We value each child for who they are, listen to their voice and show them that they matter. We understand that behaviour is communication, and when children struggle, we respond with understanding, not punishment. We teach children how to manage feelings, make positive choices and repair mistakes, knowing that everyone deserves support, respect and dignity.
We have high ambitions for every child. We believe that all children can learn, grow and achieve great things. Our learning is exciting, ambitious and supportive, helping children to discover their strengths, develop confidence and prepare for the future. Reading is a priority, opening doors to understanding the world and expanding children’s opportunities and choices.
We promote courage in learning and in life. We help children to find their voice, speak up, try new things and take responsibility for themselves. Through real experiences, outdoor learning and practical opportunities, children build confidence, pride and bravery to face challenges and believe in themselves.
